AIM: The main purpose of the workshop is to foster international co-operation in mathematics, particularly in the area of “Quasiconformal Mappings and Related Topics” and thus to stimulate future interactions among experts in “Geometric Function Theory” from India, Finland, Japan, and USA, and by a wide range of function theorists around the globe. The Workshop will concentrate on ‘Quasiconformal Mappings’ and the role played by them in ‘ Function Theory’. The primary emphasis of the workshop will be to promote research collaborations among various participants. In the workshop the theme ‘Quasiconformal Mappings’ will be introduced to participants by each expert giving 3 to 4 lectures in the topic.
INTELLECTUAL MERIT: The main speakers of the workshop are distinguished leaders in the field of Complex Analysis, in particular the subject of the workshop. Their lectures will emphasize the fruitful interactions between various applications of Quasiconformal mappings and will act as a catalyst for collaborative efforts.
BROADER IMPACTS: The workshop will bring closer contact with researchers from several countries, including participants from developing nations thus providing them valuable scientific and cultural exchanges.
LOCAL HOSPITALITY: Participants will be accommodated in the institute Guest house, and Student hostels or other Guest houses on payments. Hotel accommodation can also be arranged for the participants on payments and in that case they should inform the organizer well in advance.
SUPPORT FOR PARTICIPANTS: Organizer reserve limited funds to support few participants from developing countries. Also, limited financial supports are available for a few selected, preferably young scholars, teachers from India. However, participants are encouraged to arrange funding for travel and other expenses from their home institutions/other agencies.

The registration fee is compulsory for all participants, and it covers working lunch and workshop materials. The registration fee may be paid by a demand draft to be drawn in favour of ‘The Convenor, IWQCMA 05’ payable at Chennai. Registration fee may be waived for young participants whose areas of interest is close to the theme of the workshop in case sufficient grants will be available.
